New Product Development Centre

Magnus Craft this week celebrated the opening of its Product Development Centre. This facility will be used for new model development and initial assembly of new boats up to 12m (40ft) in length. The facility has the flexibility to allow testing of new production techniques and component prototyping and testing.

Magnus Craft Chairman, Stephen Melsom, said one of the advantages of a dedicated Product Development Centre was the flexibility to perfect production techniques without interfering with ongoing production. The facility also allows the security to develop new models and technology

Advanced Development of the Aeron 31

Since being previewed at the Mandurah Boat Show, the Aeron 31 has been fitted with an incredible convertible hard top. This innovative composite roof over the cockpit can be electrically raised to increase headroom and ventilation in the cockpit, or sealed against the windscreen for protection when underway or when the weather turns. The hard top can be completely removed for those who prefer open air boating. The amazing foredeck "skyroof" has also been completed and extensively tested. A large section of the foredeck is electrically lifted to create the feeling of a huge open living area in the forward cabin. When closed, multiple seals and deep gutters keep the cabin dry.

The prototype boat has been completely rewired to incorporate the latest CZone integrated electrical control system. As well as allowing programmed lighting "moods" with with a variety of colours and intensities, the system also integrates and controls the onboard fans, pumps and sensors. A remote control option is also available, allowing remote control of the boat's battery master switches, alarms and lights, similar to a luxury car. The prototype boat will be extensively tested and sea trialled over the summer

Aeron 31 Completes Testing prior to Public Launch in March

The prototype Aeron 31 sports cruiser has completed an extensive series of sea trials and systems testing prior to its public launch in March. "Development of the prototype has taken more than two years, and final testing is an essential part of this process" explained Magnus Craft Chairman Stephen Melsom.

Whilst the boats enviable performance and dry ride in a variety of sea states impressed the Magnus Craft team, the testing of mechanical and electrical systems was just as important. The Aeron 31 introduces innovative new technology and features, all of which required testing in normal and extreme operating conditions.

The prototype is now completing its interior fitout, with Italian fabrics and fittings to complement the Walnut furniture and luxury carpets.
